23/9 Home V Farnham Town Dragons Result: 3-2 Win
New Season, new division and new players, how would we do?
We started very brightly
restricting Farnham to only one shot on goal in 15 mins whilst we created numerous chances. We then scored only to have the lead rubbed out before half time.
The 2nd half was much the same with us taking the lead and looking comfortable only to have Farnham to hit back with only a minute to go. This is where the team really impressed; we collected the ball from our own net, ran to the centre spot and kicked off with only one intention, to score the winning goal. We did it with seconds to spare. Well done Boys!!!!! |
7th Oct 2007 Away V Walton Celts Result: 2-3 Win
There seems to be a new found confidence within the team. We dominated the 1 st half without getting the goals we deserved. A fine Header from Bradley was cancelled out by Walton just before half time.
The 2nd half we were awarded a penalty to go 2-1 up, followed by Bradley's 2nd strike to go 3-1 up (I think he was chuffed looking at the expression on his face). We were probably over confident now allowing Walton to score a 2nd , but we 'hung on' resolutely to maintain our 100% start to the season. Another good team performance all round. Who next? |
14/10 v Hart Dragons
Result 2-1 Win
Having already played Hart in a seeding game, we seemed to give too much respect to them early on. We conceded a goal so now was the time to see how we reacted to being behind in a game for the first time this season. The boys responded brilliantly with our best team play to date, with a passing move involving three boys from end to end to score the equaliser. The rest of the match was one of hard tackles and close shaves, but the defiant manner we showed resulted in a scrambled winner with five minutes to play. A hard fought match which could have gone either way but overall I think the battling effort gave us the slight edge. Another good win to keep up the run, three out of three, and now a deserved week off.

28/10/07 Away V Bisley 'B' - Result: 0-5 Won
After a fairly even start to the 1 st half we took a deserved lead but somehow didn't seem to settle. Good defending though kept Bisley at bay when they attacked. Then came the 2 nd half.
Crisp passing, great movement and a liking for rain gave us four more deserved goals. A great all-round team performance. Very well done to all the boys without exception.
