4th May 2008 Hook 3 vs 6 Beaulieu After an extended warm up period, Beaulieu got straight down to business and immediately put Hook under pressure, with plenty of fluent passing and running. There was a confidence in Beaulieu's play that has been missing of late, and it was this confidence that saw Beaulieu awarded a penalty. Oli S calmly walked up and fired the ball into the Hook net. One nil. With a goal advantage, Beaulieu continued to press the Hook defence, and when Robert played in James D, the second goal came. Beaulieu then started to suffer from injuries, the first being Marcus, who was proudly replaced by Jack. Then Scott came off second best in a strong tackle, winning the ball but suffering from bruising to the toes. Despite this, Beaulieu continued to push forward and were rewarded with yet another goal from Oli S. Hook started the second half well and with the Beaulieu defence missing Scott, Hook managed to start to claw back the deficit. Oli S then stopped the advance by getting his hat trick and putting Beaulieu another goal ahead. A third from Hook gave them hope, but they hadn't figured on Luke striking in Beaulieu's 5 th . With time running out, Scott made a brave return to the field, popped in a dangerous free kick which was finally picked up by Luke and slotted into the back of the Hook net. An excellent performance from a rejuvenated Beaulieu squad. Man of the Match was awarded to Jack. |
