16/9 Hook United Blues V Beaulieu Result:Won 1-8

The first game of the season saw an even start between both sides. Evenly matched for the first 15 minutes until Beaulieu took the first goal. With the summer cobwebs beginning to fall away they managed to find some of the playing form to which they finished last season. Hook dug deep and tried to hold Beaulieu but with such a hard push against them found it difficult. The remainder of the goals were spread evenly throughout the rest of the game with Hook managing to put one past the Beaulieu keeper. The score does not reflect the true nature of the game with credit going to both teams for their sportsmanship.

23/9/07 Beaulieu 10 v Mytchett 1

After some jigging within the league the home game to Cove was change for us to play Mytchett Falcons. A very quick goal from striker Brad saw Beaulieu 1-0 up within the first 20 seconds. This rocked a newly formed Mytchett for a short time but they managed to steady their game and hold Beaulieu off for a while. For the rest of the game Beaulieu kept the pressure on, managing to distribute their goals evenly across both halves finishing with a 10-1 win. Once again, another well played match from both teams.

07/10/07 League Cup Match Liphook Wasps 7 - Beaulieu FC 1

This one was always going to a tough game for Beaulieu,  Div 1 Liphook against Div 3 Beaulieu. The start was very positive with Beaulieu taking the lead through Charlie G. Some very good play followed with some great movement and several more attempts on goal, this was by far the fastest paced game that we have encountered this season. Liphook then equalised followed shortly by their second. With great passing and very quick forwards Liphook settled into the game and began to apply the pressure to which the Beaulieu defence did their best to deal with backed up with some very good saves from John. The mid-field players quickly adapting to change in play found themselves dropping deep in order to help but still managing to play the ball forward giving Brad and Charlie the oppurtunity to have several attempts on goal. Although throughout the game Beaulieu tried to match Liphook, on the day they were the better team. The final score does not reflect the way in which we played and the boys can take away some good positives from their perfomance.

Goal Scorer; Charlie.

4/11 Sportiv Manor Colts 2 v Beaulieu 5

This was only the third league game for us so things were always going to be difficult. With so many gaps in our season to date I was not sure as to how the lads were going to settle into their football.

A very positive start with a well struck ball finding the back of the net from Charlie G. As the play continued we found our playing level and put another two past a very capable Sportiv keeper, all being worked from some great play involving Dan L, Dan S, Brad and Charlie.Towards the end of the first half Sportiv, through good movement managed to pull one back.

Coming out in the second half Sportiv then applied the pressure and pulled another one back. From then on Beaulieu lost some of their shape and found that defending was to be our top priority although still managing to instigate the occassional break. Until six minutes to go things were definateley hairy with, at times, some great defensive work and couragous goal keeping from John T. With some last minute frantic play we fought through the Sportiv defence and through Brad and Charlie G scored a further two goals to clinch the game.

Good effort from all involved and a well faught game.
