Latest Match Reports 9.5.2010 Beaulieu Blades 3 - 2 Reading FC

The girls had to win this match to retain their League Title and it was a very tense and nervous game for players and supporters.  The Blades started well and Lisa gave us an early lead with a well taken goal, Becks turned out for this game but her injury flared up  again and she had to leave the pitch (Thanks for trying Becky and speedy recovery).  We went two up with a superb passing move from Amy W to Hannah who put Forest through to finish with a great goal. H T 2 - 0 Reading scored early in the second half and that got our nerves going again.  We had many chances on goal but the ball would not go in the net, Teri created a great chance when she burst through the Reading defence into the box and hit a low drive but the keeper made a good save to push the ball round the post.  Hannah scored our third to ease the pressure but a few minutes later Reading scored a superb free kick from a tight angle bringing the score to 3 - 2.  The last fifteen minutes of this game were very nervous and it showed in our play.  When the final whistle came it was met with relief from the parents and celebration from the girls as they had retained their premier league title for the second consecutive season. Reading are a good team who play a high standard of football, they recently hammered Knaphill 4 - 1,  but in football the pundits say a good team can win when not playing well and that is what Beaulieu Blades did today.

Well Done Champions.
